FacesVeronika Dräxler - Germany
"Probably with the internet I have moved away from only wearing the so called societal mask to wear a full avatar, a second body. The online image as the place that gives a hint of my desires, of who I want to be. I want to become my avatar." This performance was recorded 2016, at home.Veronika Dräxler is an interdisciplinary artist, performer and author based in Berlin and Fürstenfeldbruck. She researches digital identity, (re)appropriation and (post)colonialism. For her, art offers the possibility to find strategies to balance the pressure of the attention economy in late capitalism.
