Lundgren and Pettersson have been visual and performing artists since 1999, they are the founders of Lilith Performance Studio in Malmo. Lilith Performance Studio is a non-profit arts organization and an independent space for the representation of visual arts. The studio initiates exceptional new visual art performances by inviting visual artists from around the world to work live. Longing for a better world where we can be together and feel real community is the starting point in the overall performance of Elin Lundgren and Petter Pettersson: Island in the Sun. In a hangar-like room, the public is invited to a party on a sandy island, to be part of an unpredictable social context. In their live images they touch alienation, violence and failures, a crude and absurd humor accompany the narration. Lundgren and Pettersson's intention is directly political, but without pointing in one direction. His interest is in the deformed and the unsatisfied.
