Curtain
Na Chainkua Reindorf
Binghamton, NY

This piece explores the idea of a curtain which has many connotations. Curtains are used to conceal and reveal private spaces. Curtains are also common in performance spaces, to indicate the beginning and end of a performance. The use of beads specifically is linked to my interest in common materials used in constructing masquerade costumes, and this particular format references hair and movement, both of which are also very common in West African masquerade performances.
