The world of painting and the world of theater met in the life of Ana de la Cuadra. With this collision came the need to create masks and representations of characters that go from painting to reality, adopting a face that is colorful. Masks created from fabrics and paint.

Through the mask, the artist explores the identity of the individual and the relationship with the environment. Beyond the humanity of the person, she uses the mask experience upon the primitive. Starting from the stage, she finds a scenery (or a landscape) to give life to each of her beings. Sometimes the use of an everyday landscape embraces the appearance of one of its beings, who may or may not carry certain symbolic elements. Ultimately, her work produces a visual break between the superficial and the most intimate thought.

"I understand my need to create an alternate reality as a method of understanding my true reality."
